Meet Liz

Hi! I’m Liz! A self taught abstract artist living and painting out of my home studio situated in Lincolnshire, UK.

My work explores and studies motion, fluidity, colour relationships and the materiality of acrylic paint in its different forms.

Often balancing the perfect and imperfect, I create serene, dream like landscapes, contrasted with striking forms of organic, spontaneous movements of colour and textural, three dimensional elements which speaks of moments in time, of placing and capturing inner impulses directly onto canvas and emphasising the physical act of painting as an essential part of the process.

My Story…

I have always enjoyed participating in creative outlets from a young age - always choosing creative electives throughout my schooling life: Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Design, Textiles… you name it I wanted to try it! I spent up until university passionately drawing and painting figurative portraiture, however I felt moved to pursue photography instead of art for my degree.

This was a short lived experience and I withdraw from my course at the end of the first year, quite honestly feely deflated and not being able to imagine a career for myself as an artist. The next few years had me lost, jumping from one hospitality job to another - working my way up the management ladder- but I could always feel there was more I was meant to be doing.

Like so many others, the first lockdown of 2020 saw me pick up a paintbrush for the first time in years. I began creating art regularly again, first finding my freedom in Fluid Art and taking complete pleasure in the pure act of painting, to now, where my work has since developed into dynamic abstract paintings that burst with brilliant colour, motion and fluidity.
